The inventor of Homoeopathy is basically an allopathic doctor. Dr Samuel Hahnemann from Germany invented this system in eighteenth century.

Whether to consume the medicines before food or after food?

It is always better to take the medicines before food, at least 30 minutes to one hour. In case if one forgets to take before food then the medicines can be taken some time after food. ( at least 30 minutes to one hour after)

During Homoeopathic treatment there will be an initial worsening of the complaints?

Not always. In some sensitive patients there may be a sudden aggravation of the illness after taking the medicine, which is a good sign- a sign of healing crisis. This shows that person is responding well to the treatment and the medicine selected will bring curative results.

Too many dieteric restrictions when on Homoeopathic medicines?

Not required. Some laymen over emphasize the restriction of coffee, tea, garlic, onions during Homoeopathic treatment. According to our master Dr Hahnemann moderation in the above list medicines remain unaffected as they are not crude medicines, they are potentized medicines.

Homoeopathic medicines are more efficacious in children?

Homoeopathic medicines are equally effective in every age group. If children are started with Homoeopathic medications in an early age the medicines will boost the immunity of the child and prevents the recurrence of the complaints thus improving the quality of life.

Whether other drugs can be taken simultaneously when one is on Homoeopathic medication?

It depends on what medication patient is on since long duration. Some pose a common dilemma that whether they can continue some non Homoeopathic medicines. Some drugs cannot be stopped immediately like Diabetic tablets( OHA), Insulin therapy, Antihypertensives, anticonvulsants etc. These drugs can be tapered gradually or stopped over a definite time. However minimum medication is ideally desired if one cannot stop the long term medications.

Is Homoeopathy has any side effects?

No. Homoeopathy medicines if prescribed according to the principles cannot have any side effect. Instead it will give the patient some side benefits. For an e.g. if a female patient comes with chronic headache and when medicine is prescribed based on the totality of the sufferings her other complaints like menstrual irregularities, hair fall, skin rashes etc also disappears. Here according to principles means the dosage. Some times too frequent repetition of some mother tinctures or a low potency medicine for a prolonged time will have some adverse effect.
